Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County in its missionto protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community effortsand its vision to be theHealthiest Statein the Nation. Furthermore the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values ofInnovation,Collaboration,Accountability,ResponsivenessandExcellencein all aspects of their work.
Assists in Web page designs and modifications for Intranet and Internet web sites. Designs attractive and user-friendly web pages for the Intranet and Internet web sites. Produces and modifies graphics for use in the web sites. Makes sure all current reports are available on intranet. Stays current on internet updates into state Content Management System. Handles majority of web updates from Help Desk system.
Prepares various forms of documentation including, but not limited to, data dictionaries with field descriptions, data flow diagrams, report and screen layouts, user instructional manuals, operation manuals, and internal program and procedure documentation. Keeps up to date the IT Help Desk Requests. Uploads current files to SharePoint site.
Modifies and updates database tables, views, and stored procedures. Creates, modifies, and updates reports based on databases using advanced database reporting tool. Assumes Information Custodian responsibilities for Access Databases under their jurisdiction. Supports any current Access databases and assists in their conversion to SQL.
Assists with the development, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, modification, and support of computer programs and application databases. Develops and supports SQL Server web applications, including web page programming and database connectivity.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:
Knowledge of basic terminology, concepts and techniques of data processing and computer programming.
Skills in writing code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, , ASP, SQL. Skills in using Adobe Creative Suite, including Dreamweaver and Photoshop, Microsoft Office, including Excel, Access and SharePoint, Crystal Reports, Adobe Acrobat, and MS Visual Studio. Skills in website design and maintenance and report generation using Crystal Reports and other reporting applications.
Skills in creating and maintaining relational databases in SQL Server.
Ability to think logically and to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to write, code, test and debug computer programs.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments to fulfill customer needs and meet project deadlines and goals.
Ability to communicate technical data information effectively and ability to work well on a team and independently.
Ability to acquire new programming techniques and apply those techniques.
Interpersonal skills to provide good customer service.
